How to interpretate picking results / performance?

Hello there,

I'm new to sportspetting and was trying to figure out how i should interpretate picking results but don't come to a clue, so i thought lets post the question in this nice forum (which was already very helpfull).

My question is:
How can you say that a result of 55% of your picks, or a streak of 40-20-3 (am i right that the 3 in this is void or cancelled games?) is good, without knowing the mean of the odds?

I'm sure that i can pick 80% right at odds of 1,1, but I would of course still be loosing. So without the odds the numbers have no meaning? Or am I missing somtehing that is very obvious to the more experienced?

It all depends how you as the follower decides how much to bet on games etc because you can profit from those 40 or you can lose on those 20. Depends how much your wagering on the games and if you keep the wagering uniform
